ValueTech provides a safe and secure shopping environment for our patrons. Most consumers are unaware that it is statistically safer
to use your credit card over the Internet than in traditional stores and restaurants. These businesses use a multiple copy sales draft,
which requires your signature. The employee now has access to not only your credit card number but signature as well. Internet transactions
are performed electronically without a multiple copy sales draft making your purchase safer. ValueTech utilizes SSL (Secure Sockets Layer),
the most widely used encryption technology. This technology is compatible with Netscape Navigator version 2.0 and above, Microsoft Explorer
version 3.0 and above and AOL version 3.0 and above. SSL encrypts your credit card number by transforming the data into an unreadable format.
Only an authorized processor can convert this information to complete the transaction. In the unlikely event that you experience any
unauthorized use of your credit card as a result of shopping while utilizing ValueTech services, immediately follow the notification
procedures required by your credit card company. Upon confirmation of credit card fraud, if your issuing company fails to waive your
entire liability for unauthorized charges, ValueTech will reimburse you for the remaining liability, up to a maximum of fifty dollars.
Furthermore, legislation exists to protect against fraud on paper that apply to electronic transactions as well. The Fair Credit Billing Act of
1975 was passed to help consumers resolve disputes with creditors and to ensure fair handling of credit accounts. According to the law, even if
your credit card number was stolen and charged to the limit, your maximum liability is only $50.00 whether charged in person, over the phone, or
online. However, you must report the misuse immediately to the credit card company. Know your rights! For more information including your rights,
contact information, and legal recourse, please visit the Federal Trade Commission's Fast Facts Sheet on the Fair Credit Billing Act at:
